Day 2 | May 30, 2020 George Floyd Protests
The second day of protests in response to the killing of George Floyd in Charlotte took place in center city. They began midday and ran throughout the night until around 4 a.m. the next day. Things escalated often throughout the night from agitation by the police and at times by the protesters. Queen City Nerve left the area when gunshots were fired in the middle of a crowd on Church Street after a large group was pushed north from the Romare Bearden Park area with riot control agents.
