BILLIE ZANGEWA: THREAD FOR A WEB BEGUN

The guided 30-minute tour at the Gantt Center feature its newest exhibition, Billie Zangewa: Thread for a Web Begun. The Malawi-born, Johannesburg-based artist hand-sews silk fabrics to create collage tapestries that explore themes of society, identity, and feminism. The multilayered tapestries convey a sense of fragility, both in the silk material and in the intimate scenes she depicts.
