Joe Bonamassa

Joe Bonamassa is often hailed as the blues-based six-string slinger par excellence of his generation. The accolades, however, don’t quite capture Bonamassa’s complexity. Drawing from an era when the blues guitar-based riffs of Cream, Hendrix and Ten Years After topped commercial charts, Bonamassa keeps touch with his forbears, but also stretches their hard rock DNA to include acoustic as well as more muscular tones, and his dynamic songwriting grabs attention while separating blues from bombast.
