Ranky Tanky, Grammy-winning Roots Music Ambassadors

“Soulful honey to the ears” — NPR. GRAMMY-winning Ranky Tanky, lifelong friends from South Carolina, have elevated the music of the Gullah community to the global stage. Topping the Contemporary Jazz charts, they perform a masterful blend of generations-old Sea Island songs and originals rooted in the West African traditions of the coastal South. Their music gives these traditions new life through appearances from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to President Biden’s inauguration event.
