Siloam School Reopening

June 15 | 12:00 pm

The Siloam School was built more than 100 years ago by members of the Mallard Creek area’s Black community for local Black children to have a place to learn amid a movement to educate freed Blacks that began in the 1890s and continued into the 20th century. In September 2023, following six years of planning and fundraising for the Save Siloam School project, the old schoolhouse will now serve as a center for history education.
