Get ready for fall’s most ‘spirited’ event! Join the Historic Elmwood Pinewood Inc. (HEPI) Saturday, November 6, 2021, for the first-ever Historic Cemetery Drop Dead 5K. The race will take place within the 70+ acres of Charlotte’s Historic Elmwood and Pinewood Cemeteries. Participants will run by the likes of Belk, Ivey, Morrison, Tate, and Blake, just to name a few of the resident luminaries.
Come join us for a night of art and laughter featuring Charlotte poet Adrian McQueen Parrish. Adrian's poems have been most recently featured in Blumenthal Performing Arts' "Of Earth and Sky" art installation and anthology. They also performed for the 2021 Charlotte Pridestream. They have previously been featured in literary magazines, poetry slams, and variety shows. Adrian is releasing a book of poems that they have been working on for the past few years. These poems have been beautifully illustrated by artist Ashley Frye. This release show will also include performances from The Charlotte Storytellers and improv from The Comedy Arts Theater of Charlotte. This will be a fun night of laughter and art! It is a free event at Free Range Brewing in NoDa. Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
