A dimly lit venue won’t prevent you from hearing well. While Grace Potter appeared to be hanging out in the shadows for much of her concert at The Fillmore on Saturday, Nov. 18, her voice sounded as strong as ever.

Performing an array of solo work — “Ready Set Go,” “Paris (Ooh La La)” — as well as a variety of tunes from her days in Grace Potter & The Nocturnals — “Medicine,” “Stop the Bus,” “Nothing But the Water” — Potter is always the consummate professional who showcases her vocals with ease.

The packed Music Factory venue rarely stood motionless as the crowd moved and grooved to the singer’s soulful songs for nearly two hours. The concert was the final show on this leg of her tour, as she’ll play only a couple shows in December before getting back on the road for a long stretch in the new year.

Potter appeared to be having an absolute blast for the duration, giving time to recognize her crew and band alike.

While there was a tight knit-bond among the Nocturnals that some fans think will never be met, her backing band on Saturday night sounded outstanding and clearly pushed Potter’s vocals into the spotlight where they belong … even if she was difficult to see.
