Hear & Now is a live music video series, created to connect the Charlotte community with the local music scene. In collaboration with Groundcrew Sound, local musicians highlight their talents in an intimate atmosphere to make it feel like you are in the room. You may not always be in the right place at the right time, but you can always catch what you have missed with Hear & Now
H&N – Courtney Lynn & Quinn
Performing on the Charlotte PRIDE Wells Fargo Stage (August 17 at 3:30 p.m.)
Courtney Lynn Russell and Jocelyn Quinn Russell have been busy lately. After a packed first half of the year between live performances, adding a new member and stepping into the studio for their first full-length with drummer Steven Cornacchia and bassist Luke Barnette, the Charlotte-based band took a small break to record in Groundcrew Sound Studio for Hear & Now.
With Quinn backing up Courtney Lynn on vocals, their voices and lyrics layer and weave in and out with one another easily, as if they’ve been singing together their whole lives. While supported with experts Cornacchia and Barnette, the two have finally rounded out their sound and added an extra dimension of sound with the recent addition of Barnette.
The upcoming EP, Remiss, is a turn away from Courtney Lynn’s solo project, Wander Years, which came out in 2016. With more soul in the sound and more years of life experience under their belts, Courtney Lynn & Quinn are set to explore the underlying theme of “remiss,” whether it be lacking care to yourself or lacking care to your relationships. Don’t be remiss in catching their new EP when it drops.
The married duo is set to perform on the Wells Fargo Stage at Charlotte PRIDE 2019 (August 17).
