Lindsey Stirling Dances the Night Away at Skyla Amp
Violinist keeps the energy high during Duality tour stop
I’ll have whatever she’s having. Seriously.
At 39 years old, violinist Lindsey Stirling was a whirlwind of energy on stage at Skyla Credit Union Amphitheatre on Saturday for the Charlotte stop on her Duality Tour. From the first notes of her cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” through the final rounds of applause after “Eyes of the Untold Her,” Stirling rarely paused her dancing.
There were brief moments to chat with the audience from a microphone on the side of the stage, or to get ready to climb up aerial silks, but for the most part she was bouncing, twirling, leaping and kicking her way around all night.
It’s been 16 years since the pop violinist first made waves on the fifth season of America’s Got Talent. Since then, she’s released seven studio albums and been a constant fixture on the road, regularly performing in Charlotte for summer or holiday concerts.
Fans of all ages typically sit in awe of her limitless spirit — it’s rare that instrumental music is so enthralling. But that’s been Stirling’s trademark since the beginning.
The night opened with a 45-minute set from rock trio Pvris.
Stirling shows no signs of slowing down, as she’ll continue her summer tour deep into August before heading to South America in the fall.
