Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo Reopens, Prepares New Menu
Charlotte’s highest indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge readies for summer
Following two months of renovations, Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo recently reclaimed its spot as Charlotte’s highest indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge, reopening with a new look and preparing to debut a new food and beverage menu on June 16.
“We are thrilled to reopen the doors of Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo and share this vibrant space and outstanding views of Charlotte’s iconic skyline with our hotel guests and the greater Charlotte community,” said general manager Brian Mastay in a release on Friday, though the bar itself has been open for a few weeks.
“We look forward to ushering in this new chapter and having Nuvole serve as the backdrop for lively evenings in Uptown while celebrating life’s special moments.”
The new renovations included new indoor and outdoor furnishings, wall coverings and flooring as well as the addition of gas fire pits, updates to the bar space and exterior signage, and new mixed-media artwork from local artist Lori Love.
Similar to the portraiture collage work you may have seen at spots like The Evening Muse, Love’s work in Nuvole depicts iconic musicians including Bob Dylan and Tom Petty.
Beginning June 16, Nuvole will debut its new summer food and beverage menus, which will include Neptune’s seafood roll, made with fresh lobster, lump crab, and shrimp; halibut ceviche; and kimchi rice with crispy tofu.
Nuvole has also updated its wine program, offering guests the option to build their own custom flight or try a curated selection crafted by the establishment’s wine director.
The featured cocktail for June is the Blush & Bloom, which blends Bombay Sapphire gin, Lillet rosé, St. Germain elderflower, and lemon. Twenty percent of proceeds from each Blush & Bloom cocktail will go to Madelyn’s Fund, a Charlotte-based nonprofit that provides vital support to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit patients and families.
Opened in 2018 atop the AC Hotel & Residence Inn Charlotte City Center, Nuvole Rooftop TwentyTwo is a joint venture of the San Francisco-based Vision Ventures and Tampa-based McKibbon Hospitality, as are both hotels.
The businesses are located along the Charlotte Rail Trail at the Charlotte Transportation Center/Spectrum Center light rail station. The property is connected to the Queen City Quarter, formerly known as Epicentre.

Located at 220 East Trade Street, Suite 2200, and accessible by the elevators at the AC Hotel’s main entrance, Nuvole is open Monday-Thursday, 5-11 p.m.; and Friday-Saturday from 5 p.m.-1 a.m.
