Plenty of artists create a show when they perform live, but for electronic acts, it’s more about creating an experience. Look, nobody needs to watch a DJ turn knobs for an hour; a majority of fans are more interested in the overall vibe and letting the music course through their body.
From the opening beats to the final notes, Snow Strippers offered a sold-out Fillmore Charlotte that full-body experience on Thursday night. Singer Tatiana Schwaninger and producer Graham Perez had the whole venue dancing, sweating and singing along for more than an hour.
While Tati spent the majority of the night dancing back and forth across the stage, Perez found plenty of time to join her or simply jump up and down getting the crowd riled up. Most of the lighting came from behind the DJ stand, creating spooky visuals comprising silhouettes and shadows while the duo performed.
For those in the crowd who were dancing, moshing or jumping along, the imagery was the least important aspect of the entire vibe. Most just seemed happy to be in the same building and experiencing the full depth of the Snow Strippers’ music.
The night opened with a 30-minute set from Anna Luna, who offered her own style of electronic music accompanied by a DJ. Her style was a bit more ethereal and dreamlike compared to the frantic energy of Snow Strippers.
I can only imagine how tired those who attended the show, followed by the afterparty at The Rabbit Hole, were on Friday.
Snow Strippers will continue westward through February before ending their 2026 North America tour in Vancouver on March 1.
