It’s hard to believe The Beaches has been a band for 15 years given that every band member is currently still in their 20s. Yet with all those years of experience comes a stage presence and tightness to the music that should be expected.
The band’s high-energy performance and catchy songs are just two of the reasons that The Beaches continues growing its fan base. Their show on Monday night was originally scheduled for The Underground but was moved into the larger Fillmore Charlotte — always a good sign.
Singer/bassist Jordan Miller, guitarist Kylie Miller and guitarist Leandra Earl all captured the spotlight in their own way, drawing in the listener as drummer Eliza Enman-McDaniel held the rhythm in the background.
The band’s music touches on various genres, from indie and dance rock to elements of disco and pop. It all blends together seamlessly from song to song as Miller’s vocals tie it together. The group even has moments of stellar harmonies between the two Millers and Earl.
Last time they were in town, The Beaches opened for The Aces at The Underground, now they’re headlining the larger venue next door. The band’s trajectory only appears to be going up.
