KAMASI WASHINGTON

8:00pm | The Underground | $29.50

Kamasi Washington

Like a shaman, soul-jazz composer and saxophonist Kamasi Washington raised a cone of power at the late, lamented Chop Shop in 2015. His tenor sax spiraled as soulful as John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme,” before escalating into splintered hard bop. Since then, Washington has released the magisterial Heaven & Earth and spearheaded a jazz renaissance.
