Zara Larsson Brings Arena-Ready Show to The Fillmore

When Zara Larsson performed at The Fillmore on April Fool’s Day, it felt like someone had pranked her. The rapidly rising star didn’t let the cozy confines of the Music Factory’s mid-sized venue restrict anything about her show, which would have certainly been moved outside to the neighboring amphitheater had it taken place a month or so later.
Touring in support of her 2025 album, Midnight Sun, Larsson made it clear that she’s ready for bigger stages. Flanked by a quartet of dancers and a three-piece, all-woman band, the spotlight shone brightly on Larsson, who danced and sang her way through more than 20 songs.

Opening the night with the Grammy-nominated title track of the album, which she revisited at the end of the night, Larsson mixed in bits of older music with the new material. At times, the crowd was louder than Larsson herself, with the venue hardly able to contain the energy being put forth from the stage.
The Swedish singer/songwriter first gained recognition after winning a talent show in 2008, but her career has truly blossomed in the last couple years. It’s almost hard to believe she’s released five albums at this point.

Flooding the venue with good energy and dance-pop bangers, Larsson’s presence on stage was magnetic. The crowd roared every time she popped back on stage from a wardrobe change and her entire performance made the considerable Fillmore stage feel small.
There were a handful of times when her vocals faded as she focused on dancing — though that only cemented the fact that she was singing live.
Having previously opened for big-name artists, such as Beyonce, Ed Sheeran and Tate McRae, it’s more likely that Larsson will continue to stand in the spotlight as a headliner — and at larger venues the next time around.

The tour will wrap up in Houston on April 12 before she heads overseas for a single show in the UK in May then back to Scandinavia for a couple Norway shows in early June.
